Addellene Giveaway!

 
Hello Mammy lovers....I am over at www.sewwequilt.com
as a special guest and I am having
a giveaway of one of my Mammy dolls..Addellene.

    Hi Cheryl there she is "Addellene". I remember when I first saw this on Madame Samm's site I sent her an email and she told me it was for a future give-a-way and I ws blown away then. So I came over here and found all the dolls that you do and became a follower then. Your talant is awesome. But then again dolls intrigue me. I did not grow up having dolls it just wasn't natural in my house and I really do not want to go into any past stuff so just suffice to say that your dolls are wonderful and truly beautiful. Good luck on your journey in quilting. If you ever need a extra opinion or have any questions just feel free to email me. I am not the worlds greatest but have done sane quilting for well over 20 years and just got into art quilts in the last year or so. Well take care of you and thank you for sharing your beautiful dolls with us....

As a child, my grandmother made dolls as well, but you completely surpass her and include stories about them. You are so creative! I can wait to see what else you have in the works.     Wow! Just found this through Tammy,A Primitive Place Blog. I went over and read her story. Just amazing. I can see her sitting there, being there. The words do sing, it's like a tapestry woven together with threads of days. Real, just real. I would love to have her, hold her, and sing on the porch in my swing!

    I, too, was raised by a Mammy but I lived in Lagos, Nigeria at the time. However, her input in my early years has stood me in good stead throughout my life. Lovely giveway, and beautiful dolls.

    Cheryl, I've always loved dolls, too. I tried making one when I was a kid and when I didn't have much luck, I gave it up. :( Your Mammy dolls are wonderful but I enjoyed the story of Addellene the best. Thank you.

    I love Addellene Cheryl. Having a Rag Muffin of my own, I can tell everyone that your dolls are even more wonderful in person.     So glad to see the gal behind the dolls. Beautiful work and wonderful story behind the faceless dolls. I grew up in the 50's, in the South, so until the mid-60's my life included few black women. But they were all wonderful, strong women. I would be honored to have Addellene come to live at my house, but she might have to have another name: Elsie, a most wonderful and talented lady I knew from Clarksville, TN
