Rag Muffin and Wannabe Quilter

Hello Sweet Bloggers well I have finished my latest Rag Muffin I will list her soon in my Etsy Shop.  I really love this fabric just so happy I have switched to using Quilt Shop Quality fabric it makes such a big difference.  As some of you may know there is a big big bigggggggg Camapane going on for Wannabe Quilters over at Stash Manicure also hosted by Madame Samm  http://www.sewwequilt.com/2011/08/janome-sure-i-know-you.html can you believe one of the prizes is a Sewing Machine!!! unreal they have giving away so many other prizes and this will be going on every week until October 29th 2011. 

I would love to learn how to quilt but from what I know so far my quilting skills are on Zero.  I mean come on here are some of the quilting terms

Layer Cake = My interpretation is Nice big 3 layer Chocolate Cream made with Butter Cream Frosting ok I know that's not what it means but heck I know I am not the only one who thinks this. 

Jelly Roll = Yumm where is my coffee

Fat Quarter =  hmmm could it mean it's not that expensive and it only cost you one big fat quarter as you can see I need to do some research and become even more familiar with all the terms of quilting.  People who quilt seem to be having so much and shucks I want to be part of that fun too!  Have a Great day all

My Tata Bug is getting so Big

Excuse the Mess

Whew its still flaming hot I did make a little more progress today on my doll.  Also Mista made me a stand so that I can stand them when taking pictures or using at a show.  I will be doing more cutting tomorrow starting on another doll.  I hope this picture also gives you a better idea of the size.  I really went over board on this last Rag Muffin. Her ties are Black Velvet ribbons and the ribbon framing her head is 1 1/2 inch wide gross grain.  I refuse to cut back on materials lol.

Rag Muffin

My Latest Rag Muffin to be listed this week.  It's been a Hot Summer so far best time to stay indoors and sew my heart away.  Everyone stay cool and try not to be out in this heat if all possible.  Temps will be in the 3 digits numbers here in Maryland again today. 

I want to thank all of you who have continued to follow my blog and with my lack of blogging these days I can understand those who have just gave up following me.  I am working on getting better with this.  I wanted to do a Give Away when I had reached 100 followers the funny part about that is one week I have it the next I don't.  Well just stay tuned I am still going to do it not like I had wanted to do before but all and all it will be a good one.  I will keep you posted

HAPPY FRIDAY

Hello Sweet Friends I thought I pop in to wish everyone a Happy Friday.  I am still working on my doll so far this is what I have done to her.  Still not sure if she will be a Rag Muffin lol but I really love how she is turning out so far.  Once I am done with her I will be doing a few Rag Muffins in a Christmas theme.  Wow and Christmas is not far away. 

Okay let me also leave you with another clue "Flour" hehe I am still cracking up at Amy guessing.  Wonders if anyone will guess it right?  Please share with your other blogging friends that I am working on my 100th follower Give Away.  Enjoy your day all

MY LIFE IS FILLED WITH RAG MUFFINS

Hello Everyone, I still at it making Rag Muffins they have become so addictive.  I started on a new doll which was suppose to be in my McCullough Plantation Women Series but some how this one seems to be heading the Rag Muffin stage.

While I was away this past weekend I did manage to pick up a few yards of fabric which I can't wait to start using.  Is it me or does anyone else do the same while out doing other activities non doll related find yourself buying fabric or some kind of sewing notions.  I think fabric shops tend to find me I swear I don't be looking for them lol.  Where is your favorite place to purchase fabric?  Do you set a limit on how much you spend for fabric per doll?   I love fabric as much as I love anything about sewing, I think sometimes that is what gets me into trouble lol.  If the cloth speaks to me I buy it, often that can mean I may spend too much for the fabric to use on a doll but hey I make my dolls as if I were making them for myself.

I also want to remind everyone that I am getting so close but yet still a ways to go for my 100 followers.  I had give you a hint as to what the prize would be so I am going to give another clue "Kitchen"  now to add to the fun the person who guesses what the prize is will also win a prize now how kool is that huh?  So I hope you can remember the first clue.  Well back to sewing and stuffing body parts.  Have a great evening all

Rag Muffin Now Listed in Esty Shop
